If there’s one thing that many visitors at theme parks find frustrating or a major turn-off, is the long queues for the rides. You can literally spend several hours of the day standing in line to ride popular attractions. These queues can be avoided in one of six ways.
Purchase express lane tickets for the rides that offer them. Do this early to ensure that you get to ride those rides earlier in the day. Check with the theme park you are planning to go and see if they offer such upgrades.
Ride on the popular rides later in the evening, while the majority of people are enjoying the night entertainment. Some theme parks have night entertainment, and this will be a good time to find shorter queues. Of course, it will mean that you probably miss the entertainment, so if you can use one of the other options for shorter queues at the theme park, you should probably do so. Besides if you are deciding to stay in area for a few days, you can always plan to explore the night entertainment on the last of day of your trip, it will most likely be a great way to sum up your holiday.
Otherwise, the other timeslots you may want to queue for popular rides could be during meal times when everyone is headed for their meals, and during the final hours just as the park is about to close. When the tourists and the rest of crowd begin to dissipate, that is your chance to hit the popular ones!
Avoid going to theme parks during peak periods such as the holiday seasons between Christmas and New year, spring break, the summer months, or on weekends.
Arrive at the theme park early. The queues are shorter in the morning when the gates first opens. Instead of jumping in line for the first ride you see, head for the rides that you really want to ride the most. The most popular rides in Disneyland, particularly, are “Indiana Jones,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Matterhorn,” “Thunder Mountain,” “Haunted Mansion,” and “Splash Mountain”. Otherwise, do a little prior read up online pertaining to the theme park’s favourite rides among past visitors.
Otherwise you could join travel clubs such as WorldVentures DreamTrips and gain exclusive access to popular theme parks. In April 2014, WorldVentures closed Six Flags Over Texas to the public for a night and the members were able to buy tickets for a fun and exclusive experience in this famous theme park. It was called a “DreamNight”.
